Fab TAB lab cab
Look at this gem we discovered while cleaning out and moving our old lab! The shelves used to be so stuffed with equipment that one couldn't pull down these colorful slide-away covers.
The manufacturer, TAB, apparently still exists, but from the look of their website these days they make boring cubicle dreck. Imagine: this all-steel wonder cabinet was at one time purchased and installed by your federal government.
Anyway, it will be shown off alongside the ytterbium optical frequency standard project in the brand new B1E extension of NIST.

Das Gebäude Kottbusser Damm 25-26 (Bildmitte) wurde 1906/1907 für Emmler's Möbelfabrik errichtet. Auf 5.000 Quadratmetern befanden sich die Möbelproduktion, Lager- und Verkaufsräume; im 1. und 2. Hof ließen sich auch andere Gewerbetreibende nieder, etwa die Crosinsky & Eisenack Perlmutterwarenfabriken oder die Berliner Metallschraubenfabrik Hector, Marcuse & Co., G.m.b.H.
1927 schließen Emmler's Möbelfabriken, und eine der ersten Woolworth-Filialen in Berlin zieht in das Gebäude. Sie ist bis heute hier ansässig.
